Lisa D. Lechuga.

Lisa an artist and designer, would like to offer her deepest gratitude and respect to her family, her teachers; Kumu Maile Frauchiger of Hālau Hula ‘O Hoaloha and Kumu Ho’oponopono Diane Kamaolipua Grace, who are so graciously sharing their ‘ike/knowledge of Hawaii life ways and to her loving husband Evan, who has supported her in every endeavor.

Lisa’s creative journey began as a young art student immersed in the world of visual and performing arts. She studied painting, graphic design, ceramics and dance at California State University, Long Beach and received her M.F.A. in Scenic Design for theater, film and television from U.C.L.A. Over the last 25 years, Lisa’s work has led her down many roads, including productions such as Treasures of The Walt Disney Archives, or designing for 5 seasons with The Hollywood Bowl summer musicals. Lisa painted sets for 2 decades and volunteered for over 10 years with Virginia Avenue Project as a mentor and prop maker as well as designed giant puppets for Voices Carry, Inc.

In 2008, Lisa fell in love with the idea of sharing her passion of creativity through floral artistry. She worked as a designer and assistant to Cathy Ball from Hollywood Vines on TV shows such as Ellen, Big Bang Theory, 2 1/2 Men and is the lead floral designer for Weddings by the Sea in Santa Barbara.

Drawn to the nature and the arts, Lisa’s been studying Hula and Ho’oponopono (a peacemaking process which means to set to right). These sacred Hawaiian cultural practices focus on the importance of living with gratitude and responsibility, having respect for family, and the ancestors; above all, honoring the land. Lisa’s love for Hawaii and these teachings, has influenced her life and her practice as a creative. It has taken her down a path of constant discovery and joy which inspires her playful, romantic, and fragrant floral line.
